Why Chance?

Chance is an important aspect of our lives so it deserves notice and mention.

It is also the name of Chance the Gardner, a character created by the now deceased Jerzy Kosinski in Being There, a terrific book which turned out to be an even better movie starring Peter Sellers as the gentle, addled gardner to a wealthy man who is thrown by chance and circumstance into high stakes politics. He is mentally deficient yet speaks in platitudes whose simplicity and good sense render him a vision of wisdom to millions.

Perhaps this blog will lead me down a similar path.

A lot of good information about the movie here:

I saw the film BEING THERE for the first time this past year. Very profound film. Some people compare it to FORREST GUMP, but I think BEING THERE is better because it is more subtle. Chauncey Gardner had childlike faith.
